ABOUT
Hey there! I'm Arjun, the face behind Datamigo 👋

I'm a Data leader and technologist with 10+ years of experience building and solving Data problems. I've led teams and built data products at companies ranging from seed stage startups to larger public companies. I've been fortunate enough to work with some great people and teams on several interesting challenges in my career, and learnt a lot along the way. Now I'm spending part of my time sharing these learnings with others.
Most recently I was the Head of Data at Tiqets, a travel startup based out of Amsterdam. I joined Tiqets in late 2019 (following their Series-C round led by Airbnb) to help build out the data function at the company. During my time there I was responsible for hiring and leading three core teams working on Data Analytics, Data Engineering & Data Science. These teams were responsible for all things data-related at the company - Data Infrastructure, Business Intelligence, Machine Learning, Product Experimentation, Growth & Marketing Analytics.

Before moving to the Netherlands, I spent more than two years at Hoodline, a news automation startup based out of San Francisco. I joined Hoodline as the first data hire and was responsible for building out much of the core data infrastructure to support data ingestion pipelines, product tracking and internal analytics. Hoodline was acquired by Nextdoor ($KIND) in 2019, and its automated news data-wire product has since been retired.

Prior to this, I was working as an Engineer at Amazon in Palo Alto for three and a half years. As part of Amazon's AdTech group, I joined a small team of engineers that was responsible for running petabyte-scale distributed environments to support Amazon's then-new Ads business (now doing $30B+ in revenue). While at Amazon, I got the chance to architect data warehousing solutions and monitoring tools at scale - it's here that I learnt how to think and build for true Internet scale. It's also here that I was fortunate to come across, learn and apply some of Amazon's renowned Leadership Principles. Prior to Amazon, I spent a little over a year as a Software Engineer at Yahoo.

I studied Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University where I received both my M.S. and B.S. in Computer Engineering.
